These terms govern your use of Referee Alliance's web app, mobile app, and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you're accepting them on behalf of an organization, you're confirming you have the authority to do so, and “you” refers to that organization as well as you personally.
You must be able to form a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction to create an account. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide — certifications, background-check status, and compliance documents in particular — and for keeping your login credentials secure. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Referee Alliance is scheduling, assignment, communication, payroll, and compliance-tracking software. We are not a party to the working relationship between an organization and its officials, and we don't guarantee that any particular game, assignment, or payment will occur.
Automated features — assignment recommendations, conflict detection, unfilled-game alerts — are decision support. Directors and administrators are responsible for reviewing and approving assignments; we don't guarantee the recommendations are complete or error-free.
Payouts to officials are processed through Stripe Connect. By connecting a payout account, you agree to Stripe's terms of service in addition to ours. Organizations are responsible for funding payroll batches and for the accuracy of pay rates entered into the Service. We are not a bank, money transmitter, or payroll tax service, and organizations remain responsible for their own tax and employment-law obligations to their officials.
You keep ownership of the profile information, messages, and documents you upload. You grant us a license to store, process, and display that content as needed to operate the Service — for example, showing your certifications to an organization you apply to. You're responsible for having the right to upload any document you submit.
An organization's administrators can see and manage the profile, compliance, and assignment data of officials within that organization, and are responsible for how they use it — including compliance with employment, wage, and non-discrimination law that applies to their organization. We provide the tools; the organization is responsible for using them lawfully.
You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, present a security risk, or where we're required to do so by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — payment records, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution — continue to apply after your account closes.
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recommendations, notifications, or payment processing will always be timely or accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Referee Alliance is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including missed assignments, delayed payments, or disputes between an organization and its officials. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.
We'll update the date at the top of this page when we make changes and, for material changes, notify account holders in-app or by email before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
